SAINT IGNATIUS OF LOYOLA

1491-1556

  • Began a new way of life serving a God instead of men

SAINT PETER FABER

1506-1546

  • was appointed professor of theology at Rome by Pope Paul III
  • founded Jesuit colleges at Cologne and in Spain
  • was a delegate to the Council of Trent.

SAINT FRANCIS XAVIER

  • Xavier joined Loyola on the same path of devotion
  • sought religious converts throughout Asia during the 1500s.

SAINT PETER CLAVER

1580-1654

  • entered the Society of Jesus in 1602 and eight years later was sent to Cartagena
  • Baptized an estimated, 300,000 slaves
  • When on a plantation, stayed in the slave quarters

SAINT ALOYSIUS GONZAGA

Based on these five notable Jesuits and their actions, I can conclude that each one of them gave their time and lives to Jesus and to helping those that truly needed help. They each inspired people that could follow in their path.
