HISTORY

• Norwegian soldiers were the first to compete in this sport
• Has been a sport of the Winter Olympics since 1924
• Originates from Norway
• First major event held in Oslo, 1892
• World championships have been held since 1925

GOAL OF THE SPORT

• Race type sport
• Incorporates two types of ski completions
• Get to the finish line before other competition

CRITERIA TO COMPETE

• Canadian Citizenship
• Passport with expiration date after 28 Sept 2014
• Comply with all relevant NCSC, COC, and IOC requirements for eligibility
• Sign NCSC athlete agreement or athlete charter
• Sign the COC athlete agreement
