That's when Nintendo started to manufacture electronic toys and continued to do so until electronic games became popular. Nintendo barely touched the video game industry, until it started to collapse. Just when video games started to lose popularity and thought to die out, Nintendo released their own console and immediately became successful. The reason why video games are popular and mainstream as it is today is because of Nintendo. Now Nintendo is one of the most profitable gaming companies today.
