Reason #1 The poster for the movie E.T. was influenced my Michelangelo's "Creation of Adam". E.T. used the image of God's finger touching Adam to show E.T.'s finger touching a human's. The picture is Michelangelo's "Creation of Adam" on the Sistine Chapel.
