Newton's third law of motion

When two things push together, they move apart.

The harder two things push, the farther they move apart.

For example, when to wheels bump into each other, they both move in the opposite direction.

Momentum = Mass x Velocity

The more mass, velocity, or both an object has, the more momentum.

Momentum makes a moving object hard to stop.

For example, you probably can stop a wheel rolling down a hill.

But you probably can't stop a bus rolling down a hill at 100 mph.

Each action has an equal and opposite reaction. This is part of my first example with the two wheels.

Conservation of Momentum is when momentum is transferred from one object to another in a collision

But the combined momentums of each object stays the same.

When a truck hits a car in the back, the car launches forward with momentum from the truck.
