One important fact is that the more mass a object is the more force needed to make it move. Also force= mass times acceleration.

Example: pressing down on a gas pedal in a vehicle makes the vehicle move. The harder you press the faster the vehicle will go.

Acceleration happens whenever a object is acted upon a unbalanced force. Another important fact is impulse=force x time.

Untitled Slide

  • The bigger impulse means the bigger amount of speed.
  • With a small amount of mass you only need a small amount of force
  • A object accelerates or changes direction when a force is applied.
