A MAP OF NEW ENGLAND COLONIES]New England is made up out of 5 Colonies Massachusetts Bay, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Providence, and New Hampshire.
WHY DID THEY COME TO THE NEW WORLD?
The Puritans came to the New World because they were in search of religious freedom.
WHO WERE THE PURITANS?
Although they preferred to be called "the godly," they were given the name "Puritans" for their struggle to reform or purify the Church Of England
PURITAN DAILY LIFE
Puritans went to Church every day.
They would read from the bible and write from it because that was the only thing they could learn from.
What Did A Puritan Town Look Like?
- A Puritan Town did not look like a city at all
- It had a blacksmith,cobbler,general,mill,etc
- A puritan town did not have modern stores like apple, or bed bath and beyond.
Anne Hutchinson
- Anne Hutchinson was famous as one of the early colonists of the Massachusetts Colony who was banished from Boston in 1637 for her religious and feminist beliefs. Later she and some of her family fled to the Rhode Island Colony.
- Later she died with her family in August 1643 by Indians.
Roger Williams
- Roger Williams was a political and religious leader best remembered for his strong stance on the separation of church and state and founding the colony of Rhode Island.
- He was a supporter of religious freedom and the separation of church and state.

Indentured Servants
- A person under contract to work for another person for a definite period of time, usually without pay but in exchange for free passage to a new country.
- If you finished the contract, indentured servants were given their freedom, and occasionally plots of land.
Just for a quick summary, the Puritan life was not easy. They worked hard, went to church every day and were expected to read and write from the bible.
