FDR's new deal brought on many different views and opinions. The various criticisms against Roosevelt and his new deal included his bringing of the court packing plan, the increases of taxes on businesses, and the problems against republicans and rugged individualists.

Some of the critics of the Court packing plan included
1. The federal government was abusing its power over states and business
2.The plan violated judicial independence
3.Roosevelt was violating separation of powers and checks and balances

The business community
Main criticisms included:
1. High taxation on businesses
2. Too much government regulation
3. Businesses lost confidence and didn't expand to create jobs

The Republican Party opposed Roosevelt because he was part of the Democratic Party.some of their criticisms include:
1.opposed deficit spending
2.opposed many direct relief programs because they view it as attack on free institutions an diminished individual liberty

Father Charles e. Coughlin
-demagogue, a political leader who seeks support by appealing to popular desires and prejudices rather than by using rational argument
