People in the Netherlands are the tallest in the world. The average height for men is 184 cm and for women it is 170.
It has more than 4,000 km of navigable canals, rivers and lakes.

The Dutch were the first to import coffee to Europe on a large scale as early as the 1600s and 1700s.
The Dutch are one of the world's biggest coffee drinkers with an average of 140 litres of coffee a year(3.2 cups a day).
A person drinks on average 74 litres of beer a year.

The Netherlands is the world's main producer of sold tulips, producing as many as 3 billion bulbs annually, mostly for export. Tulips did not originate from the Netherlands. The first tulip bulbs were imported from Turkey to the Netherlands. Tulip petals are actually able to be eaten. During the Dutch famine of 1944 in WWII, people often ate sugar beets and tulips.

Amsterdam was built on stilts,(entire city of was built on piles)the massive stakes that are driven into the ground. These piles laid the foundation for every building in the city. This means that if you stay at one of the many Amsterdam hotels, you are actually staying on stilts.
There are over 1 million bicycles in Amsterdam, and only 700,000 locals.
