WHERE IS IT FOUND IN NATURE?

  • It is found in the air we breath but only in very small amounts.
  • A larger amount can be found in volcanic gasses. This is where we find neon.

  • Yes it is known to form a compound
  • It is combined with fluorine and a unstable hydrate to form a compound

HOW DO WE USE NEON?

  • In advertising signs.
  • To make high voltage indicators.
  • Combined with helium to make helium-neon lasers.
  • Liquid neon is used as a cryogenic refrigerant. This is how we use neon.
