Ned Kelly was born in Victoria, Australia to Irish parents Thomas and Mary

Ned Kelly was involved in a variety of offences with his gang, suitably called 'The Kelly Gang'
The Kelly Gang robbed the The Central Euroa bank in Australia, stealing the equivalent of 680,000 (Euro) in today's money. This put an initial bounty of $500 on his head. At the time of his capture, this bounty had escalated to $4300, dead or alive.
The Fitzpatrick Incident
The Kelly Gang hid at a shack in Greta. Constable Strachan, the police officer in charge of pursuing Kelly, discovered the location by a whistleblower.
Upon arriving the police surrounded the shack. However Kelly, burst out through the door in metal armour and said 'Morning Boys'
In a shootout lasting hours, Kelly was the last of his gang alive, albeit crippled and unable to stand. He was arrested.
Kelly was charged with robbery, murder and assault. He pleaded guilty , saying 'Don't waste my time with talk' He was immediately sentenced to death.
Before being hanged, Kelly sighed and said 'Such is life'
