Case Study of Twins In 2015, Dr Benyamin from Queensland Institute reviewed 2700 publications of 14.5 million pairs of twins. Studying each of the results, Benyamin found that nature vs nurture is almost straight down the middle. With human traits and diseases 49 percent had influence from nature and 51 percent had environmental factors.
Twins continued... However for bipolar disorder, 70 percent were attributed to genetics and 30 percent were from environmental factors. This study shows that while most cases are quite close, nature vs nurture can be dependent in different situations.
Conclusion While the debate for nature vs nurture is strong, we believe that they both have a large influence in everyone’s lives. Now, there is certain outliers that may skew the data, but overall they have an equal balance.
