Alberta and British Columbia produce 85% of Canada's coal

Canada exported 30 million tonnes and imported 6million tonnes. In 2016,the government of Canada said its plan to stop the use of traditional coal fired electricity in Canada by 2030

Coal was formed as a result of death and decomposition of living plants

It is formed from the remains of decayed plant and animal
material compacted into a solid through millions of years of chemical changes under pressure and heat

Coal is classified as nonrenewable
because they do not form or replenish in a short amount of time

How it effects the environment is that there
are pollution caused by different gases which effect our environment and us.

Coal is burned in the presence of air or oxygen, heat energy is released. Coal is the key ingredient in manufacturing cement and steel.

In 2015 coal made up 28.1% of the world's energy supply. In Canada many parts of the nation has lots of coal

How coal is mined
Air had to be maintained at all times. Water was pumped many times. They mine tunnels extended far out under the ocean floor. Coal dust and gas floated through these mines. Even the smallest spark or flame could cause a massive explosion. Miners dug drifts, or horizontally from a shaft. Coal was dug and extracted on carts

How much coal Canada used.
In 2005 Canada produced 67.3 million tons of coal and 60 million tons of coal was used. 56 million tons were used for electricity. Remained 4 million tons of coal was used for steel, concrete and other industries.
Alberta and Ontario used the most coal in Canada

And that's the end of my natural resource project!
