  • The Nanking Massacre started December 13th, 1937
  • The Chinese removed all troops from Nanking
  • The Chinese left the civilians to defend themselves
  • The Chinese forbid evacuating
  • The war lasted 6 weeks

THE DENIAL STAGE

  • The Japanese denied all they did
  • They claimed they never hurt civilians or raped women
  • They claimed they never let their own civilians know what truly happened
  • They claimed they didn't brutally kill people

WHAT REALLY OCCURRED

  • They pillaged through the villages
  • They raped all women they found
  • They made families watch as their daughters were raped
  • They killed children
  • They published a book about it all in japan
