What is social media?
Social media is a type of media which focuses on socializing people and makes people interact with each other and is public. Some examples are Whats, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook
How has social media changed over time?
Social media has changed in two ways. 1. It has changed by growing which means that more and more people are using apps that are social media. 2. By technology because their used to be letters and just meeting face to face but now we have social apps like WhatsApp and Instagram.
Why do people use social media?
People use social media because 1. to have fun and talk with their friends. 2. To look at previous or present news or events. 3. To fill up spare time. 4. General networking with people. 5. To entertain them selves. 6. To share videos or photos that they think friends might like. 7. To share their opinions on things. 8. To become friends with new people or to meet people. 9. To find products or information.
What are some examples of social media?
The examples of social media are the following:
Facebook
WhatsApp
Instagram
Linkedin.
How has social media changed communication?
Social media has changed communication by the advanced technology so before we used to communicate by sending letters and meeting face to face but now we communicate by (well we still talk face to face) and using apps like Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram, Linkedin etc.
How can we be careful while using social media? This info will be continued in the next 2 slides
Ways that you can be careful with social media are the following:
Making a strong password which includes at least 6 characters a mix of letters, numbers and signs.
If you have multiple accounts make sure that all the passwords are different.
Set up your security answers. This option is available for most social media sites.

When a friend request comes and you do not know the person do not accept it because it could be a fake account.
If some suspicous link comes from your friend maybe in the description if it says something your friend is not likely to say then get out of the link because the account could be hacked.
Do not share anything personal (except if you are telling a friend) on your account like phone number, identity, email addres etc.

How has social media affected people?
By social media people have talked more conveniently but kids and teens have been glued to their devices because of social media and they don’t go to each other’s house any more and have fun but they talk on devices.
