last year I took a trip to Chicago after my last exam in the winter semester with my family. we planned this trip almost 8 months in advance and were really excited to go.
On our way into Chicago we had lunch a few blocks away from our hotel. The very first thing we did in Chicago was check into our hotel. As soon as we finished moving into our room, our first stop was millennium park.
After we had lunch we went to Willis tower. Unfortunately it was really cloudy so it wasn't as enjoyable as I would've hoped. After that we stopped at a restaurant for dinner and then went back to the hotel.
Day three was really rainy so our plans got ruined. We spent most of the day either shopping in local stores or in the hotel room. Outside our hotel window we saw a car crash, pretty cool.
Day 4 wasn't much better because it was still raining, but we did go to the magnificent mile and shop a lot there. We got really wet though going from store to store. We got pretty good souvenir stuff though.
Day 5 was much better though because the weather was really good so we got to follow our plans. After we had breakfast at the hotel we went to Navy Pier and shopped around there, unfortunately the Ferris Wheel was not running that day. we also had lunch there before we went to go to the Lincoln park zoo. After we went to the zoo we had dinner at a restaurant that specializes in pizza.
After our trip to Chicago was done we took a longer way home to hit some smaller tourist attractions on the way back. we stopped in a few cities in Illinois and Indiana before finally coming back through to Michigan. Overall this trip was really cool even though half of it got eaten up by some pretty bad weather. I would definitely go there again to get the full tourist experience.
