Andres Lazo is a traumatic brain injury (TBI) survivor, writer and advocate for military veterans. He served in the U.S. Army as an Infantry Noncommissioned Officer and deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) from 2006-2007. He earned a Purple Heart during combat operations in Al Anbar Province, Iraq and competed in the 2009 Best Ranger Competition before being honorably discharged from active duty.

IRAQ 2006 - 2007

He served in the U.S. Army as an Infantry Noncommissioned Officer and deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) from 2006-2007.

TBI

TRAUMATIC BRAIN INJURY
He earned a Purple Heart during combat operations in Al Anbar Province, Iraq and competed in the 2009 Best Ranger Competition before being honorably discharged from active duty.

PTSD

POST TRAUMATIC STRESS DISORDER
Andres was selected for a Wounded Warrior Program Fellowship from 2010-2011 and his duties included military veteran issues as a Constituent Liaison in the U.S. House of Representatives.

BOTH SEEN AND UNSEEN
He is a graduate of The Institute for Research and Rehabilitation’s (TIRR) – Project Victory and is a speaker on the chronic effects of traumatic brain injury (TBI) and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
