Where does petroleum come from and where does it come from most?

Petroleum is found in the Middle East, Africa, Russia and Central and Western Asia. Other number one petroleum makers are Canada and Indonesia.

How do we get it from the planet?

Petroleum is mined from the earth by locating the oil well, and drilling and using giant machines that dig straight down called oil rigs.

Is it dangerous to mine or extract petroleum?

YES!!!!! It can be dangerous to extract petroleum if you are careless with safety like not using an oil rig properly.

Is petroleum renewable, finite, or inexhaustible?

Petroleum is a non-renewable resource that is not replaceable and finite.

How much petroleum
is there?

The world total petroleum reserves is approximately 1.2 trillion barrels of oil.

How much petroleum do we use each year?

The world uses 25 million barrels of oil each year!

What is petroleum used for?

Petroleum is used to make the following products: fuel, jet fuel, gasoline and plastics.

Does petroleum need to be conserved?

YES! We need to conserve petroleum because if we don't we will lose an important resource which we need for making plastic.

HOW CAN WE CONSERVE PETROLEUM?

We can conserve petroleum by walking, biking, and taking the subway! By not using cars we can also conserve petroleum.

What is the value or cost of petroleum?

The price of petroleum changes all the time. Since 2013 the price is the highest price in history! And the current price is about 100 U.S dollars for a barrel of oil!

WHAT IS THE POSITIVE SIDE OF USING PETROLEUM?

The world community has accepted the use of petroleum products and oil. It's easy to find gasoline everywhere in the city!

WHAT IS THE NEGATIVE SIDE OF USING PETROLEUM?

The negative side of using petroleum is burning it, and causing global warming. If we continue to use petroleum, prices will go up for everything that uses oil!

INTERESTING FACTS!

1. If we use less petroleum our air will be cleaner and healthier just like the picture here.

2. But if we use a lot of petroleum our air will be dirty and polluted like the picture here!

3. Petroleum companies are also trying to find ways of extracting cleaner energy like natural gas.

4. Petroleum products like gasoline and oil with fire make a DANGEROUS combination because it will explode!

Other Petroleum products are...
1.Gasoline 2.Jet fuel 3.Diesel 4. Methanol

C: The Force

And thank you for listening and participating!!!! :-)
