MY NATURAL HIGH

WHAT I'VE DONE

• In the duration of semester- long health class, I went/done many things that gave me the natural high.
• So here's what I've done!

Here's my ticket when I went to see "Inside Out" with my sisters.

INSIDE OUT

• It's about this 11-year old girl named Riley Anderson who undergoes a major stressor: moving from Minnesota to San Francisco.
• The movie revolves around all of her emotions she experiences: Joy, Disgust, Sadness, Anger and Fear (who live inside of her head).
• Throughout the movie, Joy discovers that you don't have to be happy all the time. Sometimes, it's okay to cry and release pain because that's a normal reaction to a big stressor.

CON'T:

• I loved this movie because it teaches people that your mental health is very critical to your wellness. It's okay to be sad and not always be happy. It helps you grow and define your character.

CON'T

• This movie was unique to me because I was able to actually have a little "girl's night" with my sisters.
• I didn't meet anyone knew but I learned an important lesson.
• If I did this again, I would definitely have gone in the morning so that the tickets were cheap

WATCHING THE SKY

PHOTOS

• I've started to take photos of the sky because I feel that the summer sky is a rare treat to watch. It was a great new experience.
• It gives me inspiration and tranquility from the daily banters I have with my family.
• I was frusturated a few times when I couldn't get a good photo
• If I were to change this, I would have taken more photos, but also taken photos of the sun rising
• Teaches me to appreciate nature more.

REFLECTION

• I love to make food for my family because it makes them smile and appreciate my cooking. Even paying and planning it!
• It drives me to make even more recipes and share my love of food to them.
• It's a major family-bonding moment for me.
• It was hard to cook and hold my phone to record.
• I would definitely use a better video camera and make myself more presentable if I could change this activity.

PRESCHOOL GRAD.

PRESCHOOL GRADUATION

• I volunteered to be a preschool teacher at my local mosque.
• They had their graduation at June 14th, 2015.
• They were awarded trophies instead of getting graduation caps.
• Three students were awarded top awards due to grades and participation.
• I was proud of teaching these students because they were all hard-workers.

CON'T

• This was such an educational experience for me because I learned that little kids can teach you about patience.
• I was frustrated at first because they wouldn't listen to me
• I will never forget this experience because in the future, it will be a great reference for me to look at when I'm teaching.
• I became a huge part of their lives.

MY SURPRISE PARTY!

SURPRISE PARTY

• My friends wanted to take me out to Olive Garden because they wanted to celebrate me becoming president of South Asian Student Society Club.
• They surprised me because I thought we were going to the movies.
• And the most surprising thing was that they had a reservation and the bill paid already! (I usually pay everyone's meal ). I never got the receipt.
• This party happened at June 20th, 2015

CON'T

• I was a bit frustrated at first because I really wanted to see a movie.
• I learned that my group of friends are the kind of friends that are life-long.
• I would benefit from this experience by making sure that they get something even more surprising when they have a birthday.

My best friends (Julie, Ananya and Iqra) arranged something unforgettable.
