MY HISTORY

ENGLISH AS MY 2ND LANGUAGE

• Early literacy years was hard on me.
• I was in speech for 4 years
• My teachers mainly only focused on my speech more than anything else
• I hated to read out loud because of my accent
• Writing was very hard for me because my teachers didn't teach me grammar.

My Mom read to us, all the time. She took us to the library and bought us books.

My Dad, who is a writer, tried to help me with my writing skills. It didn't help much.

I read this series in 5th or 6th grade and it changed my life. This is when I began to love reading.
