We're going on a Carnival cruise for spring break. We're going on the Carnival Dream, and I'll tell you EVERYTHING I know so far- this may be long:)!We Depart April 3rd, 2016, we'll come back April 10th. We Depart from New Orleans, LA, and that's where we'll come back, too.
We're stopping at Nassau, Key West, and Freeport. (Nassau and Freeport are in the Bahamas, Key West is in the Florida Keys.) We get a couple "days at sea", just to hang out on the ship, and then some days we will get off for the day and spend it at the location we stop at (listed above).
This is what our room would look like. We're on deck 10, which is called "Lido". I've memorized our room number- it's 10243. Like my family says, by the time we get on the ship, I'll know every inch of it!!
The picture behind is of "Carnival Waterworks". Basically just slides and stuff, but on other parts of the ship, there are basketball courts, mini golf, a small-ish pool, which is on our deck. There are also spas, but adults only...:(.
This is the "Fancy Restaurant" on our ship. We will eat here for dinner, and 2 nights we will "Dress Up" fancy. This is not the only place you can get food on the ship, though. There are places everywhere, and most of them are free-included with your purchase. You can even get pizza at the pool, and all night!
Camp Ocean is a place where they watch your kids if you want to do something. It looks really cool- there's a ton of stuff to play with and do- like crafts. You'll be separated into groups- anyone from ages 2-11 can join, and you are separated into these age groups: Penguins ages 2-5; Sting Rays ages 6-8; and Sharks ages 9-11.
This is the Carnival Dream Theater. There are shows here, such as performances from the Punchliner Comedy club with George Lopez. You can enjoy legendary musicians and now comedians! And new in 2016... Kathy Griffin! Whoever that is.... Comedian, or whatever, so it says.
Shore Excursions are things that you do when you get off the ship at your stops. You can snorkel(and probably see this view!!:), kayak, meet/ swim with dolphins, tours, "Beach Getaways" where you can bounce on a giant floating trampoline into the water, meet stingrays, or, you can just go back early and enjoy the pool all to yourself.
To enjoy in your stateroom- you can gaze at the neat towel animals stewards fold, you can order 24 hour room service- no extra cost, all included, or just relax with TV after a long day of play. Or, if you're the super active type, you can go to the fitness center for a little bit.
Your luggage probably won't get to your room until the afternoon, so you'll want to have a carry-on bag for your swimsuits/ etc, anything you think you can't survive with until your luggage gets there. Packing tip: roll your outfits together so they're easier to pack and grab. Also, you may want to put clothes in your carry-on and separate everyone's clothes into different suitcases- a little bit of everyone's clothes in every suitcase- just in case someone's gets lost.
