Music, Media, and Film in Afghanistan

Music, Media, and Film in Afghanistan is very different from other countries.

Living in a world were music is banned, television is rare, and all form of entertainment are politics seems fun, right?

Where we live, America embraces life of entertainment with enjoyable things to listen, watch, and hear. Afghanistan, not so much. Due to low literary rates, and lack of other progressions, Afghanistan limits these down to only the bare necessities.

Movie theaters and television were almost nonexistent, even in Kabul.

In Afghanistan, television and movies were very uncommon, even in Kabul, the country's capital.

Music was banned by the Afghan militants, which even led to some musicians being jailed.

- Low literary rates causes reading articles in the news paper and on the internet almost impossible.

When you can't read well, you can't use the internet or the newspaper very well.

- Radio was the most used form of media, mostly having news stations.

Radio, not including words on paper or on screen, but auditory was much more efficient for Afghans to get news and other information needed transmitted.
