  • Body is taken to a tent called, "ibu" or "place of purification
  • The body is washed with water
  • Than, the organs are removed
  • The organs are packed up to dry
  • The heart is NEVER taken out

MUMMIFICATION PROCESS

MUMMIFICATION PROCESS

  • The embalmers would put there insides in Canopic Jars.
  • The embalmers would drain out all of the fluids out of the body. It was called shrinking the body.
  • Oils were used to make the dead body smell good.
  • Linen was used to wrap the body.
  • The embalermers would tie the arms together and the legs together.

EMBALMERS

  • The embalmers would place an amulet to protect the body.
  • They would take a hook there the nose to take out the brain.
  • The priest would read spells during the process
  • Decorating the mummy was important to the religion.
  • Only the pharoahs were buried in pyramids

THIS IS A HOOK USED TO MASH THE BRAIN AND THAN PULL IT OUT OF THE NOSE

PYRAMIDS

  • The pyramids were dedicated to certain pharoahs
  • There were things in the pyramid meant to help them in the afterlife
  • There would be traps so the mummy wouldn't be hurt
  • There would be hieroglyphics explaining the pharaohs life
  • There was a kings chamber and queens chamber
