WHY DID THEY MAKE MUMMIES?
The earliest ancient Egyptians buried their dead in small pits in the desert.
The heat and dryness of the sand dehydrated the bodies creating natural mummies.
The Egyptians didn't know another way to preserve a body other than mummifying.
