HISTORY

• A Large eruption has not occured in 200 year
• Small eruption are common
• Lahars & pyroclastic flows do occur
• No major explosive eruptions have occurred
• The past 5 eruptions were minor

ECONOMICS

• $9.6 billion on tourism
• $3.4 million lost on landslides
• $4.0 million lost on earthquakes
• 10.0 million lost on other volcanic spending
• Without tourism the economy will suffer

THE COMPROMISE

HERE'S THE PLAN

• Create an evacuation plan
• Keep restriction directly near the mountain
• Keep geologists monitoring activity
• Keep all tilt meters in place
