1. About 4,000 people have tried to climb Everest,
2. Everest is believed to be 60 million years old.
3. In 1974 no one climbed Everest.
4. An Indian mathematician, Radhanath Sikdar, calculated that Everest was 29,002 ft this was later changed to 20,029 ft.
5. In April 1933, Douglas Douglas-Hamilton and David Fowler MacIntyre flew a Westland PV-3 biplane over the summit.
6. The people to snowboard down Everest were Frenchman, Marco Siffredi and Austrian Stefan Gatt, in May 2001
7.The worst year on Everest, as of deaths, was 1996 when 15 climbers died.
8. Yuichiro Miura of Japan was the oldest person to climb Everest, at 80 years old.
9. In 2013 someone made a phonecall on top of Everest.
10. Apa Sherpa has the record for reaching the summit of Everest 21 times.
