  • The Blobfish has no bladder
  • They don’t have any muscles in it’s body
  • They are found at depths where the water pressure is dozens of times higher than at sea level
  • They reach lengths up to 27.5 inches
  • Extremely rare to come by

MORE COOL FACTS

  • It comes from the psychrolutidae family
  • It’s scientific name is psychrolutes marcidus
  • What is the reason of a Blobfish being so misunderstood is because out of water it is Blobby and ugly but in water you wouldn’t know it was a Blobfish
  • They still remain a mystery because your face or thousands of people at sea level still a lot we’ve yet to learn about these JellO like members of the animal kingdom
  • Scientist still don’t know how long blob fish live or how they reproduce

WHAT IS ITS HABITAT

  • The Blobfish lives in the waters of Tasmania Australia and New Zealand

FUN FACTS

  • The blob fish came into the spotlight as a result of it’s highly unusual features which resembled a miserable man
  • It’s weird body shape and head adorned with a huge nose frown, along with its tiny and sad looking eyes make make it one of the most unique looking sea creatures in the world
  • Remember though that the blob fish is only ugly when Removed from its habitat. in the deep sea it looks like a regular fish definitely not meriting the ‘ugliest animal’ status
