  • When Germany invaded Poland Szpilman was forced in to a Warsaw ghetto
  • He escapes the ghetto trying to find shelter and food which he does
  • A German officer finds Szpilman and allowed him to hide and brought him food regularly
  • Szpilman was later freed while the German officer was captured and Szpilman kept playing the piano
