WHAT IS A VOLCANO?

  • A volcano is a hill or mountain
  • It contains magma
  • It shoots out lava,hot ash,and pyroclasric material and it comes out of the vent
  • It also has a neck which is were the ash and the lava comes out of
  • There is also magma chamber which contains the magma

WHY AUGUSTINE?

  • I chose Augustine because I have never heard of it and I thought it would be fun to explore
  • It is located in Alaska,USA in Augustine Island and its latitude is 59.36 and longitude is 153.43
  • It is also the most active volcano of the eastern Aeultian
  • It's explosions disperse a lot of ash all over the land it also has a low viscosity

ERUPTION HISTORY

  • Mountain Augustine's Biggest Explosion was in 1883 it was so big it caused a tsunami
  • The mountain has erupted in 1812,1883,1935,1963-64,& 1986
  • Augustine's eruptions spread around a lot of Ash
  • It also erupted in 2006 and 1994

FUN FACTS ABOUT AUGUSTINE

  • In her 1883 eruption Augustine blew big parts of her complex
  • By the next century the pieces were rebuilt by several eruptions
  • After the 1883 eruption the eruptions afterwards was destroying the volcano and rebuilding
  • Mountain Augustine is a volcano surrounded by pyroclastic debris
  • Mountain Augustine makes alot of carbon dioxide helping plants around and the vegetation
