  • It is the highest mountain in Africa and fourth highest mountain in the world
  • It is still considered a stratovolcano that was formed 750,000 years ago
  • It is the highest free-standing mountain in the world at 5,895 meters or 19,341 feet
  • Mount Kilimanjaro is actually a dormant volcano and it has two peaks that are 7 miles apart
