SKILL = Strategies
WILL = Motivation

Morgan & Fuchs (2007) asked: Is there a relationship between a reader's motivation & their ability?

Answer: YES!!!
One's reading motivation correlates to one's reading scores

This means teachers must consider motivation as part of effective instruction

Readers considered engaged from families with low income and education levels had higher achievement scores than readers considered less engaged from families with higher income and education levels (Kirsch, 2002)
