MOTHS

Survival Mechanisms

Moths are nocturnal insects, and because of this, they have to find mates to help them find food and shelter.

When it is time for moths to mate, the female moth flies out into the world and places herself on a tree branch or rock.

She then releases a wafting scent called pheromone to attract any curious male within 2 kilometers.

Any male who gets a sample of the scent on their antenna, flies towards the source.

If the male is lucky enough, he may mate with the female moth. He does this to bring back the sensation he achieved from the waft of the scent.

Every insect has their own unique story about its survival and reproduction process. What is yours?
