The new moon phase happens once every month

The waxing crescent phase is when a sliver of light starts to apper

The first quarter phases shaws just half of the moon

A waxing gibbous phase is just about a full moon

The full moon phase is when the full part of the moon is lit

Waxing means to get bigger as an example the waxing cresent

Waning means to get smaller as an example waning cresent

A lunar eclipse is when the earth blocks light from the moon
