MUSIC

  • Mongolian music consisted of singing, morin huur, & horse head fiddle.
  • Morin huur- comes from the origin of the Chinese two-stringed fiddle.
  • Khooml singing
  • Long Song- a traditional song without the use of instruments.
  • The main themes behing their music are: nature, family, & epic tales.

FESTIVALS

  • Naadam- festival of three great sports. This take splace in the capital.
  • Tsagaan Sar- "white moon" celebrates the lunar new year.

  • Hinduism and Buddhism

THE MONGOLIAN GER

  • Portable dwelling made with wood binded together with leather.
  • The door frame is separate and the roof comes up as an umbrella.
  • Heated by a small metal stove.
  • Entrance always faces south.

ARCHITECTURE

  • Mongolian architecture is usually built to be easily transported.
