The name tells you the number of atoms.

The prefix tells you the exact number of each element present.

Compounds bonded covalently are called molecular compounds.

Molecular compounds consist of just nonmetals.

Compounds that are covalently bonded have a lower melting and boiling point.

To write the name write two words.
Prefix + name
Prefix + name + ide

Carbon dioxide
Carbon tetrachloride
Trinitrogen pentoxide
