PRESENTATION OUTLINE

The Mohawk Indians lived in long houses which took a lot of work to build.  It was usually 100' long and was built using sticks, string, and bark.  The long houses were huge and held several families.  It had beds and fires to keep them warm and to cook food.

Mohawk Indians lived in New York until the 1700's.  They then moved to Canada.

Mohawk Indians ate was fish corn beans squash dear moose black bear duck rabbit and wild turkey

Mohawk Indians used weapons such as the bow and arrow, warclubs, spears, and knives to hunt.

They wore breech clothes and leggings. The women wore wrap around skirts with shorter leggings.

Mohawk Indians used elm bark to make their houses and other things.

They were crafty people and made crafts and weaving and dolls.
