Beautiful Art

They had really great observations and conversations about them.

Lots of creativity!

CLOSING DISCUSSION

WHAT DOES IT ALL MEAN TO THEM AND THEIR WORLD

HOW DID IT GO?

  • Really great, quick engagement activity to get students thinking about science topics.
  • Kids loved it and had fun making designs and watching the colors mix.
  • My favorite part was the conversations they were all having about science, and science & art.

WHAT WOULD I CHANGE FOR THE FUTURE?

  • Will DEFINITELY use tubs for applying the powder.
  • Use a plastic tablecloth for the coloring table to protect from food coloring.
  • Have something for the students to write/work on while they’re waiting for others to finish their work.

WHAT I LOVE ABOUT THIS ACTIVITY

  • It’s a hands on way for students to experience science
  • It helps to generate good conversations about what they’re doing
  • It could incorporate so many other standards and subject areas with it
