  • It’s scientific name is psychrolutes marcidus
  • What is the reason of a Blobfish being so misunderstood is because out of water it is Blobby and ugly but in water you wouldn’t know it was a Blobfish

  • The blob fish came into the spotlight as a result of it’s highly unusual features which resembled a miserable man
  • It’s weird body shape and head adorned with a huge nose frown, along with its tiny and sad looking eyes make make it one of the most unique looking sea creatures in the world
  • Remember though that the blob fish is only ugly when Removed from its habitat. in the deep sea it looks like a regular fish definitely not meriting the ‘ugliest animal’ status

  • BlobFish aren’t eaten too much by sea animals
  • If sea animals do eat the blobfish they will of course die from the acid like skin
  • Only fisher men catch the blobfish in a net not trying to only trying to catch lobsters and small fish
