  • Plane mirrors are flat
  • They reflect light in the exact angle it is recieved
  • Plane mirrors are used in many things

  • One use for plane mirrors is a looking glass
  • This is my most favorite use for plane mirrors
  • This is because you can keep your self looking fresh

  • Another use for plane mirrors is signaling
  • Bright lights were shined on these mirrors and turned on and off using morse code to communicate

CONVEX MIRRORS

  • Bulge outwards
  • Distort the image, changes the size
  • Light rays spread out when they hit the mirror

CONCAVE MIRRORS

  • Used in reflecting telescopes
  • The dished in side of spoon is an example of concave mirror

CONCAVE MIRROR

  • The imaginary line normal to the mirror's surface at this point is called the principal optical axis

CONCAVE MIRROR

  • When light rays fall on the mirror's surface they reflect according to the law of reflection and converge on a point in front of the mirror called the principal focus

CONCAVE MIRROR

  • The principal focus lies on the optical axis at a distance from the mirror's center called the focal length of the mirror
