What was it?
The middle passage was where slaves were brought to America ,where they were later brought and sold
Why Was It Called The Middle Passage?
It was call the middle because it was the middle leg of the three part voyage
Who Was Involved?
The people that were involved were mostly slaves and slaveholders
How Many People Were Affected?
Many people were affected slaves were the most though,also people who were against slavery and tried to do something about it were possibly killed
How Long Did It Take?
The journey itself took anywhere form 6-8 weeks but If they weather was bad then it could take longer
The conditions?
The conditions on the slave ships were terrible ,they were infested with all kinds or things. The slave weren't allowed to get up and use the restroom so they had to their business where they we're laying
When Did It Start?
The middle passage started in 1518 and ended in the mid 19th century
The Ships?
The ships were big wood ships and were expected to hold a lot more people then it was capable of, that's why disease was spread so quickly
Where Were They Kept?
The slaves were keep all over the ship, the slaveholders would be them in every crack and Corner just so they could have room for more slaves
The Route?
They would live Europe ,go to Africa,and then take the slaves they captured in Africa to America so they could be sold
