Michelangelo impacted history by creating sculptors that got him recognized by many people in Italy, he also painted the Sistine Chapel ceiling which had a good and bad effect on people.

The Pietá earned "Michelangelo a reputation as one of Italy's finest sculptors"(Beck).

"Around the time the work was finished, there was a complaint against Michelangelo, because of the way he depicted the Virgin"(Wallace).

The Pietá gained popularity and a whole new reputation for Michelangelo,who got criticized for how he viewed certain biblical stories

"The pope, impatient, pressured Michelangelo to finish quicker, and as a result he was forced to uncover his work in August of 1511 before its true completion in 1512"(Michelangelo).

"However, dissatisfied with the quality of their work, he fired everyone that he had recruited and removed what they had painted, beginning the whole work anew on his own"(Michelangelo).

Michelangelo was a genius, who was creating a masterpiece and he could not be bothered by artists, that could not do their job, and a pope that was very eager to see the ceiling of the church
