• Mexico and Texas were fighting over the border.
• Occurred in 1848.
• Mexican cession is a historic name for southwest U.S.
• Most of the area had been territory of Mexico Alta California
• Mexico controlled the territory which was called Mexican cession

• This was caused by the North Americans wanting more land
• They wanted it so they can obtain trading coasts along the Pacific.
• They wanted mexico's land

CONFLICT RESULTS

• This was between America and Mexico
• This caused America and Mexico to fight for land.
• So they went for war, which lasted 2 years.
• America won, so that expanded the U.S.
• They signed a treaty called Guadalupe Hidalgo
