Manifest Destiny is the belief that Americans and the right to spread from 'shining sea to shining sea', from the east to the west coast

The US acquired present-day Arizona, California, Texas, Colorado, New Mexico, Nevada and Utah under the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo

Railroads were important because they enabled people and goods to get from point A to point B much more quickly than by horse and wagon.

Many immigrants and settlers had economic opportunities in the west. Because of the rich soil, many settlers became farmers. And the railroads also provided construction jobs to help expand transportation

The US had several advantages like railroads for faster transportation, the telegraph for faster communication, better leadership, more money, and better resources

The US never lost any major battle in the Mexican-American War. They basically won the whole war
