SHORT TERM CONSEQUENCES

  • Meth can damage the decision making process
  • This could cause stupid decisions, and death
  • Not being able to remember what you did
  • High risk of self-inflicted injury
  • The more drugged you are the more likely you will die

  • Violent behavior
  • Mood disturbances due to a loss of producing dopamine
  • Homicidal thoughts
  • Higher risk of Alzheimer's disease
  • Higher risk of epilepsy

HISTORY OF THE DRUG

  • First developed in Japan in 1919
  • Used during WW2 to keep the troops awake
  • Used by college students as a non medical stimulant
  • In 1970 US made meth illegal
  • When this occurred many people set up drug labs in CA
