SPINNER

  • In this class, we've learned to take our time on decisions. We've been taught to weigh in either side and not jump to conclusions, similar to a big wheel

SCALE

  • Speaking of weighing in options, we've learned to look at every side of an issue and see what our opinion is

EAGLE

  • We've also learned to look out for information all over and look at things from all angles with an "eagle eye", rather than only surround ourselves with information that agrees with us

BAT

  • A bat cannot see very well, but it can listen. In this class, we've been taught to listen to an issue as a whole with respect for both sides

MOCKINGBIRD

  • As Atticus Finch states, a Mockingbird is so saintly and innocent that it is a terrible thing to kill one. Here we've been taught to become overall better people.

OWL

  • Lastly and most importantly, we've been taught to think, just like an owl we've been taught to become wiser people with open and smart minds.

Overall, in Mrs. Woods's AP English 11, we have learned how to be better people. The most important thing I have taken out of this class is the ability to think and form my own opinions. In sum, becoming my own person and an enlightened thinker.
