WHO IS MERCURY

• Mercury is a major Roman God
• He is very famous
• He is featured in many stories
• He is the god of financial gain , messages , travelers , luck, trickery
• His parents is Zeus and Maia, he grew up in the matter of minutes

STORY OF ARGUS AND MERCURY

• To satisfy Hera’s jealousy Zeus turns Io into a cow which Hera then hands over to the Argos
• Since Argos had Io Zeus became upset and sent Mercury to kill him
• Mercury made Argus fall asleep and then choped his head off
• Mercury freed Io

THE STORY OF APOLLO AND MERCURY

• Mercury was just born
• Mercury killed Apollo's cows in the few minutes of his birth
• When Mercury killed the cows he invented lyre
• Apollo went to Zeus Hermes attempted to charm Zeus into letting him go by
• So he said that he was just a toddler and he didn't know what he was doing

MERCURY AND ODYSSEUS

• Mercury sometimes serve the underworld
• He aided Odysseus against Circe
• He also told Pluto to either let him go or face the wrath of Zeus
• So he saved Odysseus's life and Pluto let him go
