Hopefully today after introducing this musical mneumonics training to you, it will help you in improving your memory in different ways.

to exercise various memory encoding and decoding/recall information
The goal of musical mnemonics is to help you recall information

Diagnostics

Dementia/Alzheimer's, TBI, Multiple scerosis, psychiatric disorders
Clinically, it is used with various populations such as those with dementia/ alzheimer's, traumatic brain injury, multiple sclerosis or psychiatric disorders.

Working memory into

Semantic, Episodic, procedural Memory
How to convert Working memory (holds information for a few seconds until it is not needed)
into Semantic Memory (organized information e.g. facts, concepts, vocabs), Episodic, or Procedural Memory?

Putting music into things that we have to remember
The Solution is Musical Mnemonics. Putting music into things that we have to remember.

A-R-R-O-W B-A-S-E-S

  • Act on it- pay attention and be active
  • Repeat it over and over 
  • Rhythm- make it bounce
  • Order the information so that it is meaningful to you
  • Write it down if necessary
The major principles of memory functioning can be summarized by ARROW Bases.

A-R-R-O-W B-A-S-E-S

  • Break up the practice session; rest, then practice more
  • Associate it with something familiar to you 
  • Sense the information- see, hear, touch, taste or smell it
  • Emotions- develop strong feelings about it
  • Sleep- use the power of deep sleep to enhance memory
