  • We have a severe nut allergy, so please take care to ensure your child's lunch and snacks are nut free!

Attendance

  • Students are expected to arrive to class and ready to start the school day by 8:45am. Please call the school or if possible, let me know ahead of time of any absences.
  • As well, if students will be going home with someone new, please let me know!

Homework

  • It is policy of the Richmond School Board that formal homework not be given out to children in grades K-3. I do highly recommend that children read each night for 15-20 minutes.

Core Competencies

  • Core competencies are sets of intellectual, personal, and social and emotional proficiencies that all students need to develop in order to engage in deep learning and life-long learning.

Fostering Habits of Mind

  • We want to be BIG thinkers that think creatively and critically about the world around us
  • Some of these include persevering, working cooperatively, having a positive attitude, asking questions, being flexible with our thinking, being a creative and critical thinker, looking carefully, and listening actively.

Outdoor Classroom

  • As part of our curriculum, we will be exploring the natural world around us. We will try to go outside each week and observe, explore and discover different aspects of our natural surroundings. Our goal is to go rain or shine so please ensure your child is dressed for the weather!
