  • Meerkats have an average life span of 10-14 years.
  • The average weight of a meerkat is 1.61 pounds
  • Its long slender body and limbs give it a body length of 1-2 feet
  • Their tail length reaches 7 to 10 inches.
  • They will live in the wild up to 10 years. In captivity they live about 15

A group of meerkats is called a "mob", "gang", or "clan".

  • A meerkat clan usually has 20 in one mob
  • Another name for meerkat is suricata
  • They have different names in the different countries they live in

REPRODUCTION

  • Meerkats birth are guested to take up to 10 weeks
  • The female usually gives birth at night in her burrow.
  • The liters range from 3-4 pups.
  • Meerkats are born with hair but not full coats
  • Produce sexually

HABITATS/COUNTRIES FOUND

  • Often found in Angola, Namibia, Botswana, and South Africa
  • habitats are grassland, scrub forest, and desert.
