- Meerkats have an average life span of 10-14 years.
- The average weight of a meerkat is 1.61 pounds
- Its long slender body and limbs give it a body length of 1-2 feet
- Their tail length reaches 7 to 10 inches.
- They will live in the wild up to 10 years. In captivity they live about 15
A group of meerkats is called a "mob", "gang", or "clan".
- A meerkat clan usually has 20 in one mob
- Another name for meerkat is suricata
- They have different names in the different countries they live in
REPRODUCTION
- Meerkats birth are guested to take up to 10 weeks
- The female usually gives birth at night in her burrow.
- The liters range from 3-4 pups.
- Meerkats are born with hair but not full coats

- Often found in Angola, Namibia, Botswana, and South Africa
