Born in leeuwarden, holland in 1898. His family had first planned for him to follow his fathers career in architecture.

Escher used mathematical equations to make works of art that look physically Impossible to create. Like Ascending and Descending .

ASCENDING AND DESCENDING

Escher sometimes combined two and three dimensional images into a single print, like his piece " Reptiles." In this peace is looks as if the reptiles come to life out of the picture and walk around and then go back into the two dimensional picture.

During M.C. Esher's life he made a lot of pieces of art. Such as 448 lithographs , woodcuts and wood engravings And over 2000 drawings and sketches.

Escher also did a lot more than just graphic art. He made Murals , postage stamps, Murals , postage stamps, and Designed tapestries.

Escher was like other famous artists by doing all the things he accomplished. But Unlike other famous artists Escher was left handed.

Escher failed his exams in School. So his family had him enrolled in school for Architecture and decorative arts.

After Escher school, he traveled through Italy. There he met his wife Jetta Umiker, which he then married in 1924.

Escher had many great quotes. Such as, "So let us then try to climb the mountain, not by stepping on what is below us, but to pull us up at what is above us, for my part at the stars; amen - M.C. Escher"
